We arrived in Lima 4 days earlier to explore the Pacific Coast south of Lima
But first these photos were taken in Lima without and with the OAT group.
We stayed at the Sheraton Lima 4 days and our first delicious dinner was at the French Bistro named PROVENCE next to the hotel. I had a talk with the Can Can girls in their evening show !
Two blocks from the hotel was the beautiful San Martin Square. San Martin was an Argentinian General who help liberate Peru from the Spaniards.

This is the government palace ...
Lima's China Town. We had Dim Sum there in one of the restaurants, but it was terrible ...
Sherril liked this store. They have Christmas items for sale already, in October!
After 4 days on our own we joined our OAT group in a different part of Lima called Miraflores, lead by our trip leader Walter Torres ...
This is the famous Kennedy Park in Miraflores. JFK was a great friend of the Peruvians ...
Our trip leader Walter took us for a walking tour of Miraflores and showed us where to find restaurants, stores etc...
Lunch was on OAT. This is like in Mexico... bottle water only and no ice ,,even when we were very careful a few people in the group got the Montezuma revenge. (I meant Machu Picchu revenge!)
The next day we visited the large Archeological Museum where they found ancient pyramid shaped structures buried right in the middle of the city ...
This is the Coca plant, the stuff they use to make Cocaine. But it's legal here and the Peruvians chew the leaves to prevent themselves from high elevation sickness like in Cusco (11,200 feet) and Machu Picchu (8,000 feet)
Walter took us to see a water show and a spectacular laser and hologram display ... right in the city ...
Saturday night dinner was excellent at a Kennedy Park restaurant named De La Paz ...
